Oxy Powder is an oxygen-based colon cleanser that claims to safely remove waste and intestinal toxins from your colon, without the use of harsh stimulants or chemically-based ingredients. Each Oxy Powder tablet reportedly releases oxygen into the colon, which gently breaks up waste and remove harmful toxins attached to the colon wall. Be prepared to drink plenty of water--at least half your body weight in water--every day to see reuslts, however: they claim this helps the oxygen release into the colon. As this is a fast-acting supplement, Oxy Powder only recommends using it for up to 7 days at a time.
What ingredients does Oxy Powder contain? Oxy Powder contains magnesium oxide, organic germanium-132, natural citric acid and organic gum acacia.
Do the ingredients in Oxy Powder cleanse the colon? It's possible. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), magnesium oxide contains laxative properties, which encourages emptying of the bowel. Unlike other harsh laxatives such as senna, however, magnesium oxide is gentler on the stomach, and produces less severe side effects, which include diarrhea and mild cramping. Although it has not been recommended for long term use, magnesium oxide has been recommended for bowel cleansing prior to surgery due to its effectiveness. Oxy Powder also contains gum acacia, which is world renown for its ability to soothe stomach aches and cramps.
Is Oxy Powder safe? Not if you have poor kidney function or kidney disease. Germanium-132 has been linked to at least 31 reports of kidney failure, with additional reports of severe kidney damage after moderate to long term use. It may also cause anemia, nausea and muscle weakness. Verdict: As a colon cleanser, Oxy Powder is very effective, especially when it comes to waste evacuation. The risk of kidney damage may be a concern, however, although it reportedly occurs rarely.
