CleanseSmart is a 30 day detoxification supplement that claims to cleanse the colon, which helps promote the health of the colon, immune system and the digestive tract. Their supplement consists of two parts--a morning formula, which provides all-day detoxification, and a night formula, which helps increase waste elimination while you sleep. What Ingredients are in Cleanse Smart? CleanseSmart's Morning Formula contains artichoke leaf, ashwagandha root, beet leaf, bupleurum root, burdock root, celandine leaf, chlorella, corn silk, dandelion root, hawthorn berry, larch arabinogalactan gum, milk thistle seed, mullein leaf, red clover leaf and stem and tumeric root. Its Evening Formula contains cape aloe leaf, rhubarb root, slippery elm bark, marshmallow root, fennel seed, ginger root and Triphala, a blend of amalaki, bibhitaki and haritaki.

Do the ingredients in CleanseSmart cleanse the colon? Although there is little evidence its ingredients contain detoxifying properties, they do treat symptoms related to colon toxicity, including fatigue, headaches, "brain fog" and constipation. According to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, ashwagandha root may be effective for reducing fatigue, the severity of certain gastrointestinal disorders, the common cold and anxiety. Ashwagandha's rich iron content also makes it a potential treatment for people with low red blood cell counts or sexual dysfunction, namely poor sexual performance. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, ginger root is also effective for the treatment of nausea, high cholesterol and reducing the risk of certain types of cancers. Cape aloe leaf also contains mild laxative properties, which promotes stool evacuation and emptying from the colon.

Is CleanseSmart safe? Not if you are on blood thinning medications, such as waifairn. Ginger root can increase your risk for bleeding and can interfere with blood thinning medications. Ginger may also increase your risk for muscle pains and insomnia.

Verdict: As a colon cleanser, CleanseSmart is a superior product with clinically proven effective ingredients. The risk for contraindications and side effects are also very minimal, making it an ideal colon cleanser for people even with chronic health conditions.
