Bone Up

What is it?

Bone-Up is a nutritional supplement designed to improve the absorption of calcium, reducing the risk for joint and bone degradation associated with osteoporosis, a common but potentially serious bone disease. According to recent research, Bone-Up may also potentially prevent the onset of osteoporosis, due to its high amount of calcium and vitamin D, which have been shown to prevent the breakdown of bone tissue. It also contains ossein hydroxyapatite complex, an ingredient shown to promote bone growth even in people with poor bone density.

What Ingredients are in Bone Up?

Bone Up contains glucosamine, a naturally-occurring compound in human cartilage.

What ingredients does Bone-Up contain?

Bone-Up contains vitamin C, vitamin D3, MK-7, calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, potassium and boron.

Do the ingredients in Bone-Up help promote joint health?

Yes. According to a 2004 study published in the journal Arthritis and Rheumatism, vitamin D could potentially prevent rheumatoid arthritis, a painful joint disease marked by joint inflammation. The study, which evaluated the eating and supplement habits of nearly 30,000 women aged 55 to 69, showed that women who consumed at least 200 international units (IU) of vitamin D were 33 percent less likely to develop the disease.

UptoDate, a medical website, also says that calcium can also increase bone mass and prevent bone loss--in fact, they say calcium could even prevent osteoporosis, which can lead to joint pain and brittle bones. Together, both calcium and vitamin D make Bone-Up an extremely effective supplement.

Is Bone-Up Safe?

Yes--all of Bone-Up's ingredients are clinically safe for regular use. People who are at risk for kidney stones should speak with their doctor before taking any supplement containing calcium, however, to prevent further complications.

Verdict:

Bone-Up could potentially prevent osteoporosis and the bone loss that could lead to potential joint pain. It may also prevent rheumatoid arthritis, which can cause additional joint pain.
