Move Free

Rating: D
Company: Schiff

Site: Schiff Vitamins

What is it?

Move Free is a medication for joint pain claiming to offer reduction of all arthritis caused joint pain, which is an inflammatory condition responsible for cartilage breakdown. It’s said to be the only supplement ever to be recommended by Orthopedic Surgeons and General Practitioners as a treatment for joint pain. A company called Schiff is behind the creation of Move Free and the website is professional, information filled, and along with several other products from the company full contact details have been provided.

A survey which took place in 2006 supposedly showed 90% Doctors and Orthopedic Surgeons to prefer Move Free over many other brands that contained similar ingredients including the FDA-approved types of Joint medications. The 2004 independent study showed Move Free and it’s ingredients to be scientifically proven to offer joint pain improvement by up to 83% after at least 8 weeks use, and 72% physical functioning improvement.

What ingredients does Move Free contain?

Ingredients in Move Free are Hyaluronic Acid, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Chondroitin Sulfate and the proprietary blend including Black Catechu, Chinese Scullcap and Maltodextrin.

Does Move Free Work?

It’s a possibility it could work but the effects would be extremely limited. A 2006 trial called Glucosamine/Chondroitin Arthritis Intervention Trial (GAIT) funded through the National Institute of Health showed the combination Chondroitin and Glucosamine helped to only decrease moderate and severe joint pain in individuals suffering from Osteoarthritis in the knee and individuals having lesser arthritis forms showed little to almost no improvement. Scientists also revealed that Glucosamine effects might also take from two to four months to become effective which would certainly not be quick enough for severe OA sufferers. Rheumatoid Arthritis individuals saw no improvements of joint pain from Glucosamine. It’s clear that Move Free may not be the best joint supplement on the market because of its limited effects.

Is Move Free safe?

No, Move Free is not entirely safe for use because Glucosamine Hydrochloride was proven to lower the blood glucose levels possibly increasing the risks for development of Hypoglycemia. Chinese Scullcap could only make those effects much worse, and most of the ingredients increase sedative effects.

Verdict: Grade D

Grade D has been given for Move Free although it’s been greatly recommended by several Orthopedic Surgeons. The supplement might not treat all types of arthritis, but furthermore it doesn’t really treat joint pain as it’s claimed. We’d recommend use of joint pain brands with effectiveness proof and the ability to treat everything they claim. Also, try to find brands which offer money back guarantees without any catches such as for unopened bottles only.
